[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Every year (almost) there is a reconstitution of what the public market was like at the beginning of Montreal's history. This event is held in the old part of Montreal. It is not easy to make authentic-looking photographs, because you have to dodge visitors, modern signs, and other things. However, it's close enough, and this young lady looked the part. In Photoshop: graffiti removal on one stone, color balance, cropping, sharpening. Otherwise, as shot. She posed naturally without direction.

Hey Richard!
cute model, and great pov. i'm liking the fact that the background does not mix into the foreground. it's a very good spontaneous photograph.

Wonderfull portrait, Richard.
Good composition, with the basket and things on it.
Good colours and of course a nice model.
That always helps.

That beautiful photo, with very nice colors.
Beautiful girl.
Felicidades Richard.

Strong environmental portrait Richard.

Nicely done.

you should have left the graffity :P the radical medievel era eheh just kidding, you're right, in Portugal there is some medievel funfarrows but i also have the same problem... signs...tourists...graffities!

But you did managed this very well.

.. and you caught her gentle smile just perfectly, Richard. A nice 'compact' picture very much concentrated on the subject and it really could have been taken in the past. Maybe have some fun with it and try a bit of 'antiquing'.

She posed very well Richard. I love having the opportunity to photograph historical recreations and people in period costume. This is a really good shot. TFS,

Terrific! It is like a masters' painting come to life and that is where your photograph comes in with this beautiful catch. Beautifully done Richard.

Also, thank you for your comments on my photo,"Alley Art". I appreciate.

Richard, what a lovely photo you have taken, a beautiful lady in a beautiful dress, this is so classic, I really like it, very well done, TFS

classic face with old time dressing.
Very interesting :-)

I agree with Erdna - this reminds me of an old Master's painting, but it's a photograph! Very beautiful, and excellent work, Richard!

Gayle :)

Perfect, crystal clear image with stunning detail and color. Great portrait expression, fine captured!

Malik & Mary.

Yes it seems like in 18th century. Perfect shot, so natural soft colors with natural face expression.

Real art.. Perfect.

Verry nice photo, I like(like the others) Her wonderful, smile. hmmm.
The only problems I see w/ the photo are
1. The piece of wood or whatever it is on the lower left.
2.I think it could be tilted to the right a degree or two
Other than that, a fantastic photo of a wonderful subject.

I remember Gabriel's posts from the same event. Well, if they would have had camera's in the 18th century, this could have been captured back then, Richard ;o). I like the colours and the lady's pose. I just think you should have corrected the counterclockwise tilt. Well, maybe you would have lost a bit too much of the basket she sits on...
Anyway, TFS.

Very nice composition and colours and I like the way you've captured her mood and her look, very nice and looks authentic.
It really looks like a painting, you really had the talent of catching the moment at the right time and also making a good composition, like a real painter.

all the best,
