Came accross that fountain a the Maisonneuve market place. Strong backlight, some are shaded by the building in the background. Kept the side of the fountain in black with not much detail, while the boy statue which is wet, gives more details, I wanted to capture detail in the water, so took 2 reading, on in strongest highlight and one on the statue, gave me an average, close 1 stop to favours highlights.

Bravo Denis! Not only unusual and interesting, but a very effective job of metering. To me, this is a perfect example of art in photography.

Correct decision favoring the highlights.You obtained a great shot.Very dynamic.All the best,Otto.

The success of a photo, in my opinion, rides on two things: if it stimulates exploration, or if it stimulates emotion.

This is definitely the former. If a photograph, on average, gets about 3-7 seconds of a viewer's attention, this one got more than its share. The opposing geometries of light, shadow, texture and lines really make it an intriguing shot.

If it was me, I think I'd crop a little from the left and bottom of the frame. A great pic!

Hello Denis,
I like this contrasted light and the perfect timing who gives a perfect sharpness to the drops of water. A very nice work !
Kind regards
Jean

Wow Denis,
This is a cool shot! I love the effect of the sun in the water... Great capture indeed.
The whole of the shot makes me very curious to the statue and it's surroundings.... it makes me want to see more... Good work!

Cheers,
Anneke
