Cover Marie-Eve 4
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Marie-Eve, cover style. Like I said earlier, this test shoot, is the first one since many years..late 90's to be more exact, one day, we never know...)) I may in the future, scan my "old portfolio" an show it on Treklens. I was and I'm still proud of those shots. I had quite a good reputation in many good agency in Montreal,...then I got "not well" (that's a long story) and stop doing it. Sold everything, and here I am, with minimum equipement, then a few weeks ago, I encounter Sonia, a former model(she appears in my Old book) who now run an agency..))) Some talk of comming back? Maybe..)))|
Marie-Eve was a good choice for those test for a couple of reason. If she's somehow pretty, she doesn't have typical feather of a model. Not the most harmonious face either. So this was an exercise, about capturing *different looks- from the same girl. I find this one quite interesting. Marie-Eve was very surprise with the end result...when she saw this one..she comment..."is this me?" She was quite pleased.
So was I, well maybe I havn't lost the "touch" after all..))))
Outside shoot, available light, and reflectors.

Boa noite Denis
I like the photo. she looks great and attractive.
It has mood too. What a portrait need more?
Hey Denis, I know nothing about the technicalities of portraiture, but I know what I like and don't like .. and this I like. Black and white tones I like, details (of skin and hair) I like, tight crop I like. Maybe a little too much wispy hair across her cheek for my taste. Great job though.
(I'd love to see some of your old stuff .. and I'm very glad you're "well" now.)
Hi Denis - In my opinion and limited experience, the best models are not the ones who are the most conventionally pretty - it goes beyond that. Something unusual, something striking - in my view that's what makes a good model. Others may disagree :-)
Anyway, again I love the close crop here, the side-on view, the flowing hair and her lovely big eye. Professional-looking shot, Denis - very well done. And I enjoyed your note as well.
Nice work on this Denis! I love the tight crop! Really nice and sharp. The hair blowing in the wind makes this for me!
I like very much the angle and the way you photograph Marie-Eve, the hair blowing in wind add a good point of this portrait.
