Few years ago (I can't remember exactly, but it's not that important) while I was a member of a local photo club, we made photo contest with different usual themes. I suggested that the members illustrate an "Odor". We had quite a few interesting pictures.

My contribution was a montage as most of the pictures were. I wanted to illustrate the sent of cheeze, and who is the best subject to be attracted by cheeze sent? A mouse of course. And as if it wasn't enough, I dicided to go "subliminal" by adding an ad on TV.

I took a scrap piece of gypse bord, cutted an hole in it to simulate the mouse hole. A large mouse trap with cheeze, a VDO camera hidden in the bedroom is aiming at a cheeze publicity in magazine. There is about 5-6 lamps lighting the setup. I used B&W film with a 20mm lens to amplify the perspective.

Film and picture were made in darkroom and I scanned the 8x10 picture to post it on this site. Illustration of the cheeze fume was made in darkroom using "doging" technic.

Hi Alain,

This looks like fun setting this up - very inspirational - or should I say I like to steal your idea ^-^.
Looking at this picture immediately raises the question how did he get his camera into the mouse whole.
Thanks for picture and note,

Els

bonjour Alain

Very interesting mouse trap and pp work. B&W is great for this view showing the old type of TV.

I would wish the depth to be more and sharpness on the mouse, trap and door.

Good experiment! I like the idea.

tfs, bill

Salut Alain,

An interesting set-up Alain , the whole concept goes to the point , that of making the scene real-looking and amusing to the eye of the viewer ,it sure draws some attention , risk and melt for that cheese Mousy baby , lol , it's good ,i might be able to do something like this in a dozen years from now if i start thinking ...lol , tfs ,
Carol
