Good Day,

Thanks a lot first for the kind critiques and comments on previous posts of this serie. They are quite motivating . As mentioned I tried to capture various moods and signs of the season, of our changing environment

Here , Well , a bigger picture(^_^) taken while I was walking throught the La Gabelle park. This portion is located on the west side of the Saint-Maurice River. View Larger Map.

You will it it is not really far from our home ( Destination A).

On my way back to my car, which actually was parked at about the same place as the one you see on the satellite image near the B spot I saw this pretty scene. As you can appreciate the colors here are just starting to change. If the summits of the trees are very colorful, the bases are often still mainly green , as they are more protected from temperature fluctuations.
Here the river is visible on my right. So , yes , I was looking North .

Here I liked the light illuminating this young tree planted recently, compared to the old massive trees around. I found it gave to the scene a mystic look.

Technically . ISO 100 Focal: 49 MM

Again low ISO opted for richer colors, I found higher ISO is too often creating overexposed renvironment , and colors are not well represented.

To balance the light and create this mood, as the open river was visible, and with that brighter tree, I had to make sure I had enough light in my foreground. Otherwise the trees would have been too dark, I would have had only dark silhouettes. I used the flash to reveal the colors of the bottom branches. I wish I had a better focus on the small tree , but it was not easy for my old eyes to get it in focus, and perhaps maybe the wind did not help me here, as it was indeed much more sensible to the wind than the big ones I had close to me. As the light shows, it was planted in a small open space between rows of trees. My sensors got in focus with the low branches of the tree in the foreground instead. Looking through my visor , I did not notice it before working on it at home.

Post-processing . Not much again, since I have lost the use of my Photoshop program. I still use Photofiltre although for minimal post-processing works and framing. Level adjustment , a touch of saturation, and increased gamma correction for a brighter ambiance. Filtered with Neat Image. Resized & sharpened for TL, and framing.

Have a great day,

I am heading out today (^_^), with my camera …..

Hi Robert
lovely autumnal capture, light and composition with the young tree highlighted is good, not sure how a higher iso would give an overexposed shot I never go below 200 as the difference in noise is hardly visible.

anyhow hope you and yours are well

Beautifully subdued colours. I, too, like the young tree amongst it's elder - it seems to have the sun's spotlight upon it.

This just looks identical to the place we go to up at the lake! With even the same kinda of trees! Wonderful details Robert, I love the LOW light here! But the light hitting the little tree is just the BEST! Hope it gets big like the others!

Encore une fois j'aime bien ce coté sombre de l'automne, une façon personnelle de nous montrer votre coin de pays en robe d'automne.

the young tree in the park is well emphasized with the sun light.

Normaly Im not a big fan of this time of the year Robert, bit depressing for me,but fortunately good for photography.
So I put my energy in that, to make the best of it.
This picture shows exactly what I mean, whata great colors!
