I like very much the strong graphism that you got in this shot, Derek. The pile of rusty pullies is surprisingly photogenic the way you present it - haphazard on the one hand, but also clear geometrical shapes and lines on the other hand. The contrast and orange colors of the rust look great.
Just for fun, I workshopped this shot to show you how it looks after applying the "clarify" tool in PSP a number of times. Quite interesting what this tool did, it even changed the look of the frame ;-)

Wonderful composition of all these rusty pullies, Derek! The two colourful spots in both upper sides /the orange and the greenish ones/ work very well to bring diversity to the brownish rusty one. I like the sharpness and the tight framing too. Very well seen and captured.

The spectrum of different colours of rust represented here is quite something. Can't imagine that these pulleys will ever be able to be useful again. The world is turning without them...

Le monde tourne ainsi : belle ironie.
Pas mal cette composition rouillée à la mode Avigurienne :-))
As the world turns: nice irony.
Not badly this rusted composition "à.la.mode Avigurienne: -))"

Great shapes, rounded lines, textures, rusted colors mixed with blues and grays. I like these king of shots, showing human made "garbages" and "chaos". I'm just not sure about your outside framing (little brown+orange outside lines). I think it get too much attention... that photo, by itseft, contains so much lines and shapes, I think a neutral outside frame would be enough, better.

Certainly a lot of pulleys. A few decades back there were a lot more of cables and pulleys around, I think we shall be grateful they were replaced by hydraulics etc since breaking cables has cut of many legs, arms and heads of people working with them.
Nice rust and many repitions of circles in different angles.

I like your comment, Derek, as it is so true that some people collect about anything, because they know they wil have use of it one day. Also a typical farmer habit. Your shot is spot on to illustrate your comment. It's also a natural and artistic way of presenting simple rusted pullies. Art is everywhere! Sharp, colorful and very well framed image.

Eu gosto do maquinario e das engrenagens, o ferrugem já
está tomando conta das peças e deixando elas muito bonitas
com esta coloração!
Parabens,!
