This is the same tree I photographed with sunsets .I wanted to contrast those images with a daylight shot. The day was very sunny and bright. The wind was brisk and relentless from the west, and has been for many days in a row.You can see the interesting snow drifts the wind has created. The ambient temperature was around -14C for this shot but the wind chill factor was closer to -30C.These are the beautiful, bright winter days that make winter an amazing season.

A classic winter scene, Rob, with the bare tree set nicely against a pastel-blue sky.

The blue blends nicely with the whites of the clouds and snow - classic scene, well executed and presented.

Bonsoir Rob,

Michel

Hi Rob,
The sheer simplicity of the scene is gorgeous....and there's enough detail in the snow drifts and the tree branches to offer interest against that blue sky.
Best wishes,
Celina

Hi Rob

The lone tree.......always a winner, being offset to one side leads the eye so well, love it.

Very good composition. I like the pastel like colors, making it like a water color painting, with the sharpness!

Very clean and crisp: like the day that it was shot. And I appreciate your posting of this daylight shot for comparison.
You are most fortunate to be living so close to open country, Rob!
