A day roaming the Laurentidus in Quebec.
Our Host and guide: TL *Cleopatra* Real.
Wikepedia Wisdom :
The Laurentians (in French - Laurentides) is a region of Quebec. While it is often called the Laurentians in English, the region includes only part of the Laurentian mountains.

The area was inhabited by the Montagnais First Nations tribe, until the French settled it in the first half of the 19th century, establishing an agricultural presence throughout the valleys. During the 20th century, the area also became a popular tourist destination, based on a cottage and lake culture in the summer, and a downhill and cross-country ski culture in the winter. Ski resorts include St-Sauveur, Mont Tremblant and Gray Rocks.

Here we see my brother in law Jose, like us visiting Quebec also round Xmas ( He lives in the Provence - Fance)

Normaly I dont like B/W so much but yes.. I got tempted and came with this * Colour in B-W *

ISO 400 (dimed/claudy day)

Thanks and have a good one Folks

Johnny, first I thought your pictures after the flue are excellent, so something good happened due to that virus!!! HAHA kidding friend.

Nice experiment done. Liked the desaturation background and colored object gives nice effect on the same. Another papparazzi????

Take care and hugs Yolanda & you from very cold Illinois. :) Vandana

Hi John,
Desaturating the colors gives more character to your brother in law. Good capture and composition.

Hi John,
Well done. I think that the frame is too thick, but the subject inside is well presented.

Wow...well done John! Talk about getting your viewers to center on the main subject! This treatment works very nicely, the vivid colors of his clothing really attract your attention. Very crisp images, great colors and wonderful treatment...thanks for sharing,

Hello John,
This is a great PP work that is very effective. I like the desaturation of the background that put all the focus on Jose this excellent photograph at work.
We are just coming back from the "exposition" of Frederic the atmosphere is very heavy and dramatic, the worst is still to come tomorrow morning with the ceremony and the prayers.
Cheer my friend.

An other excellent work, the idea is very good.
Thanks John very much.

Excellent compo and framing. Great capture of the winter melancholical atmosphere. I like the mixture of b&w and colour.

Generally, I do not like b&w either. I love the colours too much.

Hi John,

You may not like B&W photos, but here you did a very good PP work, my friend!! :)
The POV and contrast are great!

Well done

Love it! It's nice to POP in color in a photo that might conceal the true subject matter! Nice shot John!
great pp work as always!

Well done!

Hi John,
Indeed John a great B&W view in colour :) Great composition nicely framed. Those red striped on Jose's hat are a cherry on the cake. Isn't it? ;) TFS my friend!

:) Later...

Hi John: Nicely composed, and desaturation is a useful device for drawing the attention to the subject, yet giving us information about the environment you were shooting in.
Thanks for the useful info link on RAW vs. JPG.

Hallo John
Wat een ontberingen moeten we soms ondergaan om een mooie foto te maken.
Gr Jos

Hiya Johnny,

Hope you are keeping well my friend? Just thought I'd creep in and sprinkle a few comments around with my TL mates :)
I love this shot and it's great title, looks a little chilly though for you and Cleo there however you have given the shot a splash of warming colour against the B&W effect!
We seem to have missed much of the snow up to now so no proper winter shots from me as yet :)

Nice work mate

Johnny UK ;)

Nice shot of a photographer in action.
Some good PP work here.

PS. I would choose a bit less distracting background.
