[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It's been a long time since I tried a nocturnal image, but this one caught my eye yesterday.
It's shot through a window with a 30-second exposure, so there were some problems to deal with.
Although I had turned off the lights in the hallway, the darkened light fixtures were still reflected in the glass and one had to be cloned out. The window was not perfectly clean so I had to add some blurring to the sky.
So I lassoed out the building to keep it sharp and blurred the sky before reducing it to Trek Lens size and adding the signature.
Thanks for looking! And any suggestions for improvement are welcome

Hi Silke,
Nice to see you back!
Despite the conditions, you got a wonderful night photo! The vertical composition is very well balanced with an excellent use of the thirds. The complementary colors are dynamic. I like the shadows in the top of the tower bells.
As you ask any suggestions for improvement, I think if you could add some vibrance (PS CS4) at the image, the contrast would be stronger for un better visual impact.
Bravo! Annie

Hi, Silke.Nice nocturnal shot . I do like the lighting here especially under the tower. The composition is good and the dark blue sky with the golden light forms a nice complementary color contrast. Cheers and TFS.

Hi Silke...nice shot..great light and details. Nice job.

hi Miss silke! This is nice! Very crisp details, love that blue sky, with the warm light against it! Super sharp! Good to see you posting!

Hi Silke,
I'm happy to see your post! Excellent nocturnal, the 30 seconds are really a challenge even with a tripod, but you managed it well! The time you took this picture is well chosen showing a dark blue sky and fine warm colours of the lights. Excellent composition using the rule of thirds ;-)

Hello Silke

I think I am predisposed to like the contrast between blue ,and orange, dark yellow etc.I tend to gravitate towards those contrasting colours.
The windows against the sky are wonderful, but the lighting of the steeple is superb.
The shadow effect and the internal lighting really gives the structure depth and texture.
Nicely handled.

Hi Silke

Nice to see a new upload from you. Fantastic sharpness & graphism. I really like the workshop, too. Well composed with excellent color contrasts between the blue & yellow. Tfs!

Hi Silke,
this place is special and I love your shot.
Wonderful light, the sky turnes from bright to dark, it's fantastic and I like it very much.
Thanks and greetings

I love the tones and the light in this shot, the patterns of light and shadow create such compelling geometry and there are some beautiful colours. Composition is great too.

I have to say - in my (not significant) opinion the signature is awful. :") No offence meant but it does come across as being very self indulgent. But then, signatures bug me anyway, and it might be a cultural thing as well.

Any in every other respect - gorgeous shot.

Hi Silke,
I think this is quite the creation, given the work you had to do to get this presentation, and a very good image and composition as well.
I like the play of the light, the different angular shapes all transposed against a dark and, somewhat, brooding sky.
The more I look, the more I see,
Thanks,
Wilt

hi Lady of the Lens I like very much. I never try 30 second exposure before this make me want to. very modern building with clean lines all very smooth.

Hi Silke,
This is a very neat architectuel shot. Nice exposure and suitable for that time of the day (dusk) with good contrast and vivid color. This image is sharp and crisp, with very good details, well done.
