This was taken in late fall on the hood of a blue car...I thought about how beautiful the leaf was, before it will get blown away and hit the ground, covered with snow, never to be so beautiful again

Very graphical photo with good colors and light.

Very clean, sharp photo, however, I'd probably cropped the upper part and had left just leaf and blue background. Is that reflection of a tree on the upper part?

Wow, was I surprized by the description of your photo...from the thumbnail I thought it was taken from a plane, the brown being the land, the blue the sky and the leaf put on as added layer....great picture, composition, colour and lighting.
Thanks for sharing,

Just love it the way it is presented here.
Many photographers are attracted to shines and reflections, the smooth finish of a car is often ideal for an alternative view.

Hmmm, mustang, nah, corvette, nah, hmmmm, O, I know, 1959 belair.
Excelent details in this capture, Derek. The leaf is in good shape. I especially like how you were able to compose the reflection of the trees on the hood. Well done on this composition, a work of art.

Great shot! The blue and yellow contrast very nicely and the reflected trees in the background add an additional off-center point of interest. I like the scattered water drops too - wish there were a few more of them but that might detract somewhat from the bare simplicity of the frame which is what really makes the photograph pop.

I like much. this sky which is reflected on blue painting is superb. it is as a painting abstracted with colors which function well together.

This is a good composition, although it might be stronger if the diagonal line of the shadow were to exit at the bottom right hand corner. I like the way you saw such beauty in that single maple leaf on top of the car. The shadow from the leaft stem is great. The contrasting blue of the car adds a lot to this image. Very nicely focused on the leaf, and the water droplets. Nice job Derek. Pity the reflection of the tree and other leaves weren't in the shade too, but I guess you can't change nature.

This is really beautifull Derek. I am alwasy struck by your tallent and the way you abstract things. You show less and tell more and you do it very very good.

this looks wicked Derek. really simple but very effective. the compostion for this pic is very strong, with the main subject in the corner. i like your style of framing too - it gives even simple pics like this one a huge impact.

HI... :)

I really enjoy what you have done here. The colors are fantastic, then I enjoy the simplicity of the composition!
