You show a good awareness of light and it's uses here Buddy - the BG being black is a good choice. I may have used layers and made the cloth under the veggies totally black (you can see the material to the right side of the garlic).
I was surprised f32 didn't give a deeper DOF then I saw that with the longer lens you'll always get a shallower DOF even at high aperture - maybe a 50mm lens would be a better choice?

Anyway - nice effort here. I know it's too hot to be shooting outside right now :-(

Lovely Still life. I love the light management here. Personnally I might have just off-centered or cropped one side at least to avoid the framing symetry. I agree with the David about the deeper DOF.
