Hi TL Folks!

Sunset Beach at The Cove Rotana Resort, my last tribute to the summer here in the U.A.E.

This kind of shot has been made so much times already that it's been almost a cliche. But of course when we have our own opportunity we try to make our own version, so here's mine.

We purposely waited for sunset and when the light is almost golden, i asked my wife to make some splashing action. The shot was metered for the background, set to underexpose for the silhouette effect.
This was quite difficult since i used a low pov, i have to kneel and the high waves soaked my gear, but survived. =)
AF set to continuous tracking and burst shot. Picture settings set to vivid +++. I just chose which ones suited me from the series of shots .

PP: levels, resize and sharpening on CS4.

thanks for the peek!

Hi Ian,

This is fine work, with excellent metering. The water droplets are perfectly frozen and I really like the placement of the sun. You were brave to take your equipment out into the waves, glad nothing bad happened.

Hi Ian
Its deja vu as you say but definitely not as a silhouette.
Great job on the sun and reflection, and my compliments to your wife for being so cooperative.
Dot

Hi Ian ,
I came across your photo by chance, a good one indeed , i like the silhouette of your wife against the setting sun , the drops of water caught in mid-air make the shot so interesting , hum cliché it may be nevertheless you have got an excellent version of your own that you delivered very well , bravo for this one,
Carol

Wow, idol galing ah, water splash are so sharp, it's like scenes from James bond and Charles Angels, the effect is so dramatic ang galing mo talaga.
