Well after a few days of growth the old beard gets a bit itchy so had fun with the foam and camera this morning.. Even shaved the head - my lovely wife won't like that but as she's in England for two weeks with the boys (escaping the heat here) it'll have grown before she gets back LOL...

All shots 1/40sec @f4, ISO250. Softbox to my upper right and desklamp on floor below my chin..... Camera fired with wireless remote.

Hi David,
Cheers for the incentive, been meaning to do mine for weeks..Haha. Clever idea, very good clarity with each of the self portraits. Hope you don't get in too much trouble from your other half, lol. Bravo.

Hahaha thats very interesting work from ur side :)

Good one to show Before & After effects ;)

My opinion is, how if the middle picture was half shaved and half foam on skin...? ;)

Nice lighting :)

Interesting ;)

Hi David,
That is a nice clean shave...a special one, I suppose, to present it to us in three phases!!
Good collage with the three captures in excellent sharpness and fabulous lighting!
A good self-portrait but I think it was a very sunny day to keep your sunglasses all the way through!
Just joking!!!!
Very good work and an original subject.
Well done,

Francis Xavier

You forgot your shoulders, David! ;-)
Good compo and original result. The white of the foam presents a good contrast to the B&W. Good choice to turn your head for the middle photo. It breaks with the rules of repetition, which in this case is a good thing.

Hi David...
Nice idea...
Nice seria of photos...

Perfect time for the "official" tl poll. I like the shaved head AND the "before" shot. Nice collage of the big event. Do you always wear sunglasses when shaving? ;) I do think they add something different to the photo. Of course, this is the perfect black and white photo with the shaving cream, dark shades and dark background. Wireless remote is a terrific little tool for the camera. I think people have a more relaxed expression using them. I am a little surprised at the 1/40 Sec...

Nonetheless, it's a nice collage. Good to see you wake up ready for photography! :)lisa

haha, good job! (My favorite part is the stripe - the partially shaved head in the middle shot.)
Great imaginative idea again...nice lighting, nice details (hehe), nice tones throughout ...
Good idea for the theme David.

HAHAHA! Wonderful! I like this David! This is cool, three heads are better than one! I think this would have worked just as well in color. I am now believing that you are an alien. The big dark eyes....the small smile. You are always flying around...hmmmmm. Yes, I believe so! Good job!

Hello David,
great idea! Yes, close shave and clean image.

My regards, abhijit.

The boys and I had a jolly good laugh; just as well your dear wife left earlier today! A very entertaining presentation of the stages of shaving, and now you are all tidy for your next flight!

dear David,
it is cheerful portrait picture of you.
like a commercial shot of shaving foam or razor...
but I'm interested in the flow of the time in it really.
if reverse flow, more interesting of course.
thank you,

Hello David !

Cute and fun post. Effective and well realized. Great use of the softbox to manage the light and shadows.

PS.I do not understand why you are keeping your sunglasses although (^_^). So your lovely wife will have the surprise visiting your TL page in England I do the same every morning for a few years.( under the shower , not in front of a mirror ).

Personnally, I prefer your shaved look (^_^)
Have a great time !

Hi David,
Great idea well done. Lighting's right on, details are good and the sunglasses keep the eye looking at what it's supposed to.
Good work, inventive and creative idea.

Hi David

Missed this one. A BIG thankyou for stepping in & volunteering to do the Friday theme. This is a good triptych, & a nice trifecta of stills, from the minimovie of your erratic shaving rituals. Tfs!

ha I like this! The shaved head looks good, nice entertaining presentation. I think the b/w works well I don't think it would have the same effect in color. TFS

Helo David

Hello David.
Funny post and good idea for presentation added to a friday`s theme.
Looks very well ;)
Hope you had good time on your own.

David, as Carly Simon once said in one of her famous songs: "You're so vain!" Ha! Ha! :) It's a brave photographer who let's the world invade his bathroom mirror. But I'm sure your wife thinks, "such a pretty face." At least I hope she does. That's up for debate! :) :) The sunglasses add a real "celebrity" touch!

Cheers, JoeGoff, Louisville, KY
