[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A follow up to my yesterday photo , shot a few minutes later fron a low bluff by the roadside , here a red vehicule approaches the summit of the highest pass of Lebanon this road is an important link to two valleys : the Qadisha and the Bekaa valleys note that the road is blocked by snow in winter and remains closed to vehicule traffic roughly from December to April . This is mid-May , the road was rough but passable .
The highest peak in Lebanon 'Qornet as-Sawda' 3090 m is just barely visible through the clouds to the left . The rocky hill with the large patch of remaining snow can be climbed in about 40 minutes for an even greater view of both valleys on each side of the range , we were delighted we did as the views are stupendous on a clear day and the day was quite nice !
Thank you for reviewing this photo,
Carol

Another dandy Carol!! I love the way the zig-zagging road is echoed by the zig-zagging snow across the top of the hill. Just a fantastic view.. the car is great bonus in the shot. Well done amigo.

Hi Carol,
What an artistic POV of this winding road balanced wonderfully by the layer of snow on the peak!
The red van is perfectly positioned to lead us uphill!
Great cloud formation and good light.
I like the square format.
Well done,

Francis Xavier

Another beautiful shot Carol. The color, detail and composition are fantastic. Great dof and wonderful texture. Well done. TFS, Lori

Hoi Carol,
To me this is an amazing landscape ... like from another planet or so.
Great colors and clearity. Good job done in POV and exposure.
The snow gives a superb contrast in this image. The car is a nice bonus.
Tfs
Joop!

Allo cher Carol....

tous mes compliments.
Michel

Great shot Carol - well composed with excellent light! The blue of the sky is rich and great to include the red van to give a 'human' touch.

My wife and I crossed this same pass in October 2004 - definitely no snow then ;-)

This looks so surreal, Carol!

Great landscape and perfect view with nice topography.
The color contrast between the cloudy sky and the barren landscape.
The car gives a nice sense of scale within the picture.
A white bordered frame adds to the overall charm of the picture.
Well executed!

Best regards,
Paras

Stunning shot- absolutely awesome composition and framing of the shot with the van in the frame adding a sense of scale to this stunning landscape! The color and contrast is superb and this image transports me to another world....truly. Thanks for sharing this.

Olá Carol
( I have been for twice in Turkey, now I have gone to kapadocia and look the mountains...this photo make me to remember the beauty of moutains with a little bit of snow still the). You made visible the curve lines from all the place.. ( the car is so well placed and help us to imagine the curve lines) and the beauty and as always with a good definition.
I would love to be there.
Um abraço
teresa
