Between Bcharré and Baalbek is a road crossing the mountains linking two valleys : the Qadisha and the Bekaa valleys , this road is not cleared of snow in the winter , this high pass gets a lot of snow on any given winter from roughly December to April, as seen here a view of the highest stretch of pavement of the pass itself shot in mid-May , judging by the unplowed by machinery high banks alongside i figure this was a snowy winter indeed !
The highest summit of the whole country is a stone's throw away , at 3090 m the 'Qornet as Sawda' is Lebanon's loftiest peak indeed .
Nothing special in post-processing except for a little tweak highlighting the snow ,some contrast, sharpening and frame , it was a beautiful day ,
Thank you for looking,

HI Carol; I really like this one. So many things I like here! First of all, the simplicity of the shot. Love the starkness of the snow and sky. The snow walls, taking the eye into the shot, the sparkle of sun off the car, the little puff of cloud right at the end of the road .. all of it together makes a great composition. And it's all so crisp and sharp too .. no OE on the white snow. Great job mon ami.
Hope you have a great weekend .. it's finally spring here on the prairies.

Hi Carol,
A marvelous perspective through these two walls of snow adorned with perfect lighting.
Nice tones in the white with a fantastic play with shadows. The car is an important bonus in this glorious composition with a nice starburst on the rear screen!
Very sharp and neat presentation.
My regards,

Francis Xavier

Hello Carol

Nice capture of the realation of car and snow. Super sharp image. very nice.

Bonjour Carol,
Moi qui croyait que c'était un pays sans neige!!
Excellent point de vue et perpective.
Beau contraste et détails sur la neige,

I am so ignorant, why did I think that there is no snow in Lebanon? Thank you for getting me straight. Very nice capture. Good contrast between the snow and the blue sky. Great details. Well done, tfs.

Hi Carol,

This is nice, the low POV works very well. Very sharp, nice depth and exposure looks about right, there's nice detail in the snow. I think I would have preferred this without the car, but it does provide a good sense of scale.

Hello Carol,

wow, you really like to get around.. I would never have pictured Lebanon looking like this with those high snow banks! Fantastic composition and side point of view. I like the strong contrasts of the light and colours. Nice sparkle of sun captured and sharpness..effectively framed.
