Cars of the 60s are disappearing fast. This Irani made Peykan had been produced under license of French company Peugeot. Such vehicles could be repaired with basic workshop tools, without special equipment and engine tune up could be done on the road. But such ease of life comes at cost; these cars are very heavy on fuel.

Although Iran is producing newer models of cars now a days like Samand XL, Miniator Tiba, Runna and Tondar 90 etc and Peykan is disappearing fast, still, tourists likes to have a ride in old Peykan cars and I believe this phnomenon is keeping this vintage technology still alive in Taxi line.

I took this shot in front of Imam Reza's Shrine while those Taxi drivers were busy in discussing politics.

Hi Inaam,
An olds mobile not very cared but still a joy to watch! I like the POV with a marvelous oriental architecture in the BG. A very sharp and clear presentation adorned with splendid light.
The leading into the perspective is a bit heavy but very interesting, the spectacular fantastic architecture in the BG is enhancing this great entry to the theme.

Hi Inaam,

Another wonderful picture from you. I love the POV and this lively street scene. The lighting is superb as well. The cars are a great contribution to this Friday's theme.

All the best,

I like the simple cars of the 60s, I used to be able to work on them even though I'm not a mechanic. Very colorful capture. Good lighting and dof with sharp details. Well done, tfs.

The whole looks in splendid colours, light and sharpness very curiously.
Splendid composition with the fantastic effect, very interesting contribution to the Friday theme.

With best wishes.

Hello Inaam, yes, the car has seen better days, and probably will not be on the road for much longer! But it is your street scene which catches the eyes.
A very interesting scene with lots of details to study. And it is so colourful.
The two men in the fg complete the picture.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Inaam:)
Exactly as you noticed - car like this can be repaired if you know basics with simply tools. But that is gone.
Now constructors thinking heavily how to build a car that you be forced to go to the repair garage even to replace your light bulb!!!
I like this atmosphere here, peaceful, no body is on rush. Good light management, natural colors. nice work. Good contribution to the theme
Cheers - Tom:)

Nicely done.

Hi Inaam, a fascinating colorful daily life scene - your eyes are led from the "ancient" taxis to the real ancient and fantastic buildings. Wonderful lightand clarity - soo many details. I love the old and the "new" world image.

Salaam Inaam.Nice postcard from Iran. Great POV, well composed to get the details. Excellent sharpness, exposure, colors and a informative note. Newer cars are fuel efficient and also safe with airbags and structure. Cheers.

Hi Inaam,
This one looks very much like the Peugeot 404 that I was used to in may native Sri Lanka. This is really a very colourful scene and you have captured it very well.
