[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken tonight from Awali overlooking the new Sakhir Air Base on the last night of the first ever Bahrain Air Display this was the very last firework of the closing display. Taken from about 2 miles away with my 30 year old manual Makinon 300MM F4 lens and using a tripod with 1.5sec at F4 and remote shutter release. No post processing other than reducing file size for upload.

Hi Les,

A great capture of this magnificent fireworks display. It looks to me like your settings were well chosen. I haven't attempted shooting fireworks yet, but will have to give it a go one of these days. Nice work!

Best regards,
Werner

Hi Les,
Well I would never have guessed this was taken 2 miles from the firing site, well captured with good colours, the exposure was just right to capture the palm effect from the mines and the burst from the shells.
Nice work
Regards Andy

Hello Les - Beautiful fireworks shot. Many of these old prime lenses outperform more modern and pricey plastic zooms!
