Hi Oz, as there is no note I can only guess that this was taken in the Bahrain National museum? The boat is one of the old reed boats which are long gone now. I remember when I first came here in 1986 there was one of these boats lying on the beach south of Al Jazair beach, I have never seen one since.
Well taken, a note would have been useful to explain the background to the shot. These boats date back more than 3000 years and the bundles of reeds were lashed into the basic form of the boat and then sealed with bitumen from natural seepages. Are you still in Bahrain?
