[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello Buddys,

Just a quick (pardon the pun) F1 picture today, this was at the Bahrain GP this year. It is Sebastian Vettle momments before the start of the 2008 race.

As you are not really allowed cameras in the paddock unless you have a press pass, I had to use my point and shoot, there is no zoom used on this that is how close I was stood! It is amazing to be that close when the cars take off. The ground shakes and the your eyeballs wobble in your head! This picture definatly fails to capture the excitement, but I like it all the same.

Unfortunatly he went out on the first lap with an oil leak, despite the fact that I had to scruttineer the rebuiling and repiaring of half of his engine that same morning. Obviously they failed to fix the problem.

N.B not the start actually as everone must be off the track at the start. But it was just seconds before the warm up lap.

Good shot in the circumstances Tom, shame he went out! As you say, there is a real buzz about being on the grid up to the last minute.

Hi Tom,
Nice one, after reading your note, I realised that couldn't be the start.
Those pit crews would be in danger of being wiped out.
Coincidentally, I posted the start of a Grand Prix myself tonight.
The technology has changed a tad.

Good shot, brings back some memories for me. As I recall, the car I was in charge of finished the race ;-)

Hello Tom! Great shot my friend, those are intense moments! I've never done a starting grid shot so you're very lucky! You've done great with your small camera! congrats my friend. For the first time in my life, I'll have a press pass this year at the Canadian GP!! I'm pretty excited! Thanks!
