Tree of Life

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The Tree of Life (Arabic:Shajarat al-Hayah) is a 400-year old mesquite tree in Bahrain which is considered a natural wonder. This unique tree stands alone in the desert about 1.2 miles (two kilometers) from the Jebel Dukhan.
The source of water for this tree still remains a mystery, because it stands in a place completely free of water whatsoever.
Trivia: It is mentioned in the movie "LA Story"

Note: Didn't have my tripod with me, tried my best to keep it steady hand held especially at this low shutter speed.
Gotta remember to pack my tripod on a future visit ;-) |

hi Oz
I find this shot really superb in color and brightness, nicely captured against backlight to give a nice effect.
Good work

Hi Oz,
This is a great picture, I love the colours and the way that you have captured it, I cant believe that this tree lives in the desert, it looks so green.
Interesting note.

Hi Oz, this brings back memories of the 1980's when my daughter climbed the Tree of Life and carved her then boy friend's name on one of the branches! Great shot, good POV and the backlight from the sunset works well.
Best regards, Les
