Another shot from the Laked District. I went for simplicity and colour combinations. I could have followed "the rules" and placed the leaves on the 3rds but in this case I liked the swirls and emptiness in the water.

Hello Chris,
Very nice composition, I like this simplicity and the colors. Well done.
Luc

Hi Chris.
Simplicity!!! I agree the leaves are in just the right place. I was beginning to think that we weren't going to see any stunning work today and then you cropped up.
Barry

I like how you placed the leaves in the frame,
colors and contrasts are very nice and so is the shallow dof.
Hermann

Excellent composition. I like the contrast between the leaves and the stream (in sense of both colour and sharpness)

Superb Chris! All about tonal simplicity coupled with intelligent use of depth-of-field. I like the framing, but might have added a black keyline around the actual image itself, to balance the one on the outside.
If you have a minute can you e-mail me how you add the text in PS. I've been struggling to figure it out - doesn't seem to be many script type fonts to choose from, and positioning baffles me!

Hello Chris,
Let me congratulate you, I think you have successfully broken the thirds rule which is getting rather boring. Great idea and the contrast.

Looks like there is a fan-base forming and no wonder. Top quality and a perfect decision on the final framing.
We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for tomorrow's treat.

ho, ho Chris. very good. jerzy

You are really treating us to some great images, Chris. This one is as beautiful as the previous two you have posted so far. You are a very talented & impressive photographer and I am glad that you have decided to join our community.

Wonderful composition, all in simplicity with beautiful colours & sharpness. Just perfect. Excellent!

Lovely presentation, Chris! I'm not big on frames, but here, it is an essential complement to your image. Great compo: don't be afraid to break the rules, that's what they are for! The combination of blue and orange is fantastic. Excellent job!

Hello Chris.
Very nice Composition. simplicity is the mother of art.

Chris, there's a problem. We can't see that it is water in the background, so basically this is a shot of two leaves against a blue background. Which is also nice, but in that case you should have respected the thirds. Nevertheless, a good shot - and A for effort.

Joli cadrage, joli fond, bravo pour cette photo !
Marie

Very effective POV, simple but with plenty of impact :)

HI AGAIN!
You show a great sensitive soul to capture all this simplicity and turn it into a real piece of art! I could stare your work for hours and hours!
This original POV gives and inovative balance to the picture which is fascinating! The Background is simply beautiful!
Congratulations again and again!
It goes straight to my favs..

Hi Chris (again),
I just discovered your portofolio here ... beautiful!!!
This is such a nice moody shot ... in it's simplicity ... so very well composed! The "blue blur" of the stream is just excellently managed.
Thanks for sharing!!
Greetings
Guntram

I love the colours here. I think the composition is extra attentive by situating the leaves higher up ... love it ...

This photo is the colours I've chosen for my wedding. I LOVE the colours ;o)
The simplicity is my second attraction here.
Very well seen and I adore the creative composition.

simple story, beautiful story + + + +

Hi Chris
Simply beautiful, and also beautiful simplicity ;). The so-called rule of the 3rds is not a dogma and it is sometimes just better to let the beauty of natural colours express themselves on a picture. The contrast between the warm and cold tones, the sharpness of the leaves and the blurry background is just great and nicely composed. TFS

Hi Chris,
Composition is very interesting. I like orange - blue contrast. Maybe frame is too big and white colour doesn't fit to the picture, but it is only my opinion.
Anyway, I like it a lot.

Beautiful colours and a great composition - less if definately more here!
Thanks for sharing
Mark

beautiful shot: very good choice of compo excellent and such great colours!

Hi Chris,
Beautiful harmony of colours and textures!
Great compo. Just the minimal needed for the effect.
Great one! And not following the rules...
