[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is one of numerous securing rings placed around the harbour at Paignton. I took a few pictures of this ring before realising it would be intriguing to stand it on end. The salty air has started to erode the metal.

Hello Steve,
Nice composition, clarity of the subject and the concept is remarkable,My regards,_Joy.

With time and exposure to the weather even metals erodes. Simple but effective composition and good contribution to Friday's theme. I like the tight framing and the placement of the metal ring in the composition. Good lighting and dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.

Hi Steve,

The ring is well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the rusted securing ring. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Good shot for this interesting theme Steve. Most of us have gone for landscapes of some kind so it is good to see a different take on the subject. I like your simple composition. Good use of shallow dof to make the subject stand out and I like the addition of the stone and plant on the right side of the ring.

Hi Steve, thanks for suggesting this subject as the theme.
I am rather partial to rusty objects and all that they have to offer.I had, in fact, thought of posting a shot of a rusty object but changed my mind!Maybe another time.
The shallow DoF works really well here. And standing the ring in this position was a great idea.
The pale bg, the tiny piece of stone and the weed all add to the shot.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Steve, simplicity, yet full of strength, good choice for this weeks theme,I like that you stood the ring up on its end, also I feel the small piece of concrete adds to the overall composition & acts as a good balance to the metal ring.

I like the idea and the simplicity this picture keeps and an appeal of art it deserves for that, Steve ;O))

Good placement of subject within an elegant frame.
The light and exposure are well handled, and a good use of shallow DOf also brings amazing results and make this work a good contribution to Friday's theme!

Have a nice weekend.

Awesome object to the theme. Personally i would just clone out the bright area on top right :)

Great idea to stand it on its end. It does make it a much more interesting shot. Good contribution to the weekly theme.

Hi Steve,

I can't walk past a rusting relic without photographing it, a bit like you I suspect.
They were all created by somebody's effort, and what we see is their legacy.
Nice touch to stand the ring up, it improves the composition, nice one.

A large ring for mooring.
Top rope and nothing ingombtante "cleat".
Paignton, small harbor and pier and English pragmatism.
  None cave and maximum functionality.
Held sharing.

bonjour Steve
It is the reason why nuptial rings are made of gold ;))
I have the same here on the banks of the Loire and, like you, I put them up to take shots alone or with the sight of water. But be careful with the feet when you put them down...
Bon dimanche

Simple but artful composition,fine natural colors.Best regards,Otto.

Hi Steve,
Simplicity at its best, well seen and presented.

Olá Steve

Ciao Steve, lovely and original composition with beautiful rings, excellent clarity, splendid light and colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
