Back in Time
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|The garage where I take my motorcycle for it's MOT is like stepping back in time 40 years, I was recently given all access to take some photographs round the old machines that are stored in this place.|
The view here is on the first floor of the building, it was very dark with the only natural light from the window you see opposite, I had to compensate for the exposure by 2/3 giving a more moody look....this shot is in colour.
For those who are interested, the motorcycles are early 1950's BSA, left foreground, in the background from left to right are Norton, Sunbeam, Ariel and BSA all complete and running.
Only added pinstripe frame and resized for TL.
Hope you like it

Intriguing image, a tad dark in the foreground but does give a nice effect to the illuminated bikes sat by the window. The light across the planked floor with the natural grain showing is a beautiful effect thus bringing this image together from back to front. Neat work Brian. TFS
Bom dia Brian,
The suit of BW today is representative and your photo is very good.
The shallow DOF and POV are very good and the distribution of the bikes was well to make room for the nice floor texture. Like it,
Yes, I like it too. Amazing collection of vintage bikes and good atmosphere. I wonder what fill-in flash would have done but very pleasant as is.
Superb and moody image !
Glad to see that there are people who care for old stuff. Not everything is wasted.
Very nice POV and very good exposure. Great job.
Excellent image Brian, your exposure compensation worked well.
Great detail in the foreground even see the grain in the wood.
Works really well in black and white really suits the picture.
A real cracker.
