Hello Everyone,

This shot was taken at the edge of the estuary at Whitby.

The swan was standing on the sands, when a playful dog came bounding towards it, chasing a ball. The swan immediately puffed up its feathers, raised its wings and arched its neck in a most aggressive attitude.

I'm not sure whether the dog had seen a swan before but it certainly understood the message. After a moments hesitage, it turned and ran back to its owner at full speed.

Shot in RAW.
Converted with PSE6.
pp cropped, sharpened, little burning and dodging, added borders and signed

Hi Bev,

A swan can do a lot of damage if it attacks so the dog was being very sensible. I like the close up to this lovely regal bird, the details as ever are lovely and sharp, the colours good, pov and dof great.

Regards
Jon

Hi, Beverley. Nice Pose of the Swan with a tight cropping to get a close look. Lovely picture with details with good focus and clarity. She seems puffed up and angry. I would have stayed away from it.Cheers.

Ciao Beverley

A fine study of this swan..!
In particular I'm impressed by how you achieve the 3D feeling
in the subject, thanks to the angle of incoming light...
Excellent details in the plumage, a fine pose..!

Greetings,

Hi Berverly,
Nice capture of this swan standing on the sands,
Sharp and clear on his plumage with a nice contrast,
Nice picture with great details,
compliments,
Michel

Swans are pretty but they can be very aggressive sometimes and this is the look that I'm wary of. Nicely captured with great dof with sharp details. Good framing and wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.
