Hello Everyone,

I wonder if, like me, you are captivated by otters.
I'm sure my interest was as a result of reading 'Ring of Bright Water'. It was a story about Mij, a cute, cuddly otter, who captured the heart of Graham Merill.

It had such a strong impact that I remember crying, at the end of the story.

Anyway, this delightful otter was captured in 'The Otter and Owl Sanctuary' in the New Forest. It was very difficult to get a shot, as it was racing around the area, chasing its brothers and sisters. I felt very lucky that I was ready with camera, when it suddenly popped up, on the look-out for its siblings.

Many thanks for stopping by and sharing this moment, Bev :-)

What a cute little fellow !

Hello Beverley, good timing here, you were lucky to have your camera ready!
Your sharp focus on the otters' head is perfect. There is even a catchlight in its eye.
I am glad that you kept the colour; on the thumbnail it could almost be b/w.It was also a good idea to leave some space in front of him for him to look into.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Bev,
A fine capture of this otter from such an agreeable POV. I like the positioning of the animal in the frame. Very artistic presentation with such sharpness. A nearly monochromatic presentation distinguished in color from some touches of green highlights on the trunk.
Great work, Bev!
My regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi Bev :-)

A wonderful closeup shot where you show such nice details of the face part of this lovely animal!

Great placement of the subject within a natural frame. The sharpness and POv are well done, and clarity is amazing. A blurry BG well isolates the subject.

Great job!

Bonjour Beverley
What a chance to have such beautiful animals in your environment ( alittle zoo in nature ?).Very nice capture and very natural.I think you used the gaussian tool to blur the left part with a good result

Hi, Beverley. Well composed photo with good timing showing this seal on the lookout for something "fishy".
Captured with accurate exposure in its natural setting. Good presentation and nice framing.
