[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another first experiment shooting in RAW. This time I decided to have a go at a landscape. I took afew shots at different exposures and decided on this one, as it was the sharpest.

No PP work apart from converting to JPEG, resizing and border.

I have added a B/W version as a workshop

Hi Joy,
Love the way you've framed the church. It is a pretty good result for a first RAW photo. When it comes to taking RAW's you must do PP work otherwise you might just as well go back to jpegs. You have the opportunity to adjust the color temperature and exposure. After the conversion you have to add sharpness and again after any resize. Futher adjusting levels and contrast would be a good one almost all the times.

As for the photo. It looks good, but could be sharper.

Good to go for RAW. Gives you so much more ammunition in post-processing! Nice sharp detail, the f11 gives a fine DOF.

Also nice composition with a wide focal length. Did you use a CP?

Hi Joy,
A typical English church with the grave yard dominating the FG.
Quite an interesting depth in your perpective. Very natural colors with that sense of the Fall Season.
Very sharp and neat presentation.
My regards,

Francis Xavier

Great shot Joy, your exposure is spot on with good detail in the sky.

Composition also excellent, like the way you have used the trees to frame the shot.

All in all a cracking raw image.

It is a wonderful shot giving details of foreground and the background.Giving a feeling of a painting as has been nicely composed and framed.

Hi Joy...excellent exposure control with great tones and colors..nice shot.

this is a very attractive shot. I like that you included the graves on the foreground. Sun and shadow parts go very well together here.

Hello Joy,

No doubt everyone will comment 'such a very English shot' and they will be right, But it is a shot for which you should be proud; the church is strongly positioned in the frame, uses a good dof, has lovely natural borders supplied by the trees, with excellent light.

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Beautiful shot Joy. Wonderful lighting, color and composition. So eerie. I feel like I am stepping into the frame. Great job! TFS, Lori

Hi Joy,
This looks more like a sunny fall day than a February one. I like how you have used the headstones in the foreground, as well as those colorful leaves, they definately add to the atmosphere of this scene. You captured the light nicely striking the church.Well seen & captured.

Great composition and POV, alignment and framing also perfect.
