Someone might´ve thought from the thumbnail it was a feline (cat, leopard, jaguar...) others know what it is.

Tried to center the attention in the eyes by this tight crop. No reference objects or enviroment around. No PP but crop and resize.

Look at the Workshop to see the original.

Any comments or critiques are always welcome.

Hi Galder,

The tight cropping works. Yes I thought it was a cat at first, but this must be a bird (eagle or owl?). The isolated eyes appear like buttons. The expression is 'punk' like or with attitude. Good details and sharpness on the plumage. A fine posting. Cheers

Danilo

HI Galder..nice shot...well composed..nice tones and great details.

Hi Galder,

Oh my Goodness! It seems a serious business ;)

Perfect closeup from owl with such superb details, where eyes are outstanding and so beautifully shown. Even I count the hairs on his face. Very well captured!

Have a nice weekend.
best regards,
Paras

Yes, from the thumbnail it was difficult to tell what animal these eyes belong to!
Fantastic intensity here .. nice original crop to just focus in on the eyes ... which seem to be nice and sharp.

Hello Galder,

I like this close crop of the owl's eyes, the feathers do seem like fur but the eyes are a complete give-away for me. This is a beautiful bird and you did it justice with your photograph. The focus and pov are perfect.

Thanks for sharing,
Reed

Ha! Guessed an owl straight away, largely because I've tried to capture similar shots in the past and failed miserably! This is well done - sharpness, composition, tones -all spot-on. One of those images I wish I'd taken, very nice indeed.

Well Done!
Yes the eyes are the focus of attention (and intent). Great color and sharpness. Great crop and POV. Love the many tones of brown in the feathers.

Forward looking (binocular vision) indicates this is predator. If it were a feline, the pupils would have vertical slits, not round. This is most definitely an owl.

Did you know that if an owl could read, it could read the newspaper at a distance of 100 yards? Also its feathers are uniquely constructed so that they make no sound when the wings are flapped. It is truely a silent predator.

Owls are fun to photograph as they always seem to stare at you dead on (pun intended) regardless of which way their body is oriented.
