Happy New Year to you all. This shot was taken from the passenger seat of the car with the window wound down. View from the M74 southbound. Home for new year but only just. Travelled from Aberdeenshire where the snow on the A93 made travel very hazardous. We travelled North on the A93 on Tuesday through Glen Shee (but couldn't stop between Perth and beyond Braemar as the passing places and parking places were deep in snow)but the road was closed after that.So we had to head east via Stonehaven on our homeward journey.
Looking forward to seeing all your wonderful 2010 photos.

Hi Bev!
Fantastic winter landscape!!
Great atmosphere and...peace. Very, very beautiful.
Splendid lights and shadows. Beautiful natural colours and very good presentation.
Happy new year to you and your family!
Ciao! vanda

Hello Bev,

Lovely serene (and very cold-looking) photo. Somehow I am quite taken with it.

Regards,
Siddhartha

Happy New Year Bev.
A lovely scene, and especially as it was taken from a car,I am impressed!
The trees contrast so sharply against the snow, and the sky is beautiful with its cold shades of blue.
The fence that goes right through the shot links the two parts quite nicely.
Looking forward to seeing more from you in 2010.
Best wishes Jean.

hello Bev,
The lighting here is exquisite.
Wonderful compo of a wintry scene.
The driving conditions sound horrendous. I'm feeling sorry for all the sheep out weathering these conditions.
Happy new year!
Joni

Hello Bev,

I have listened with interest to the weather forecasts regarding Scotland, feeling so thankful that it wasn't as bad here! Your shot adds that visual image that my imagination was trying to conjure up! Although horrendous for travellers, it is so picturesque!
Good control of the light and, a lovely diagonal line to lead across the frame. The tress add visual impact and help trap the gaze long enough to pick up the details of the snowbound sheep.

All the best for the New Year,
Bev :-)

Hi Bev,

A perfect winter capture with wonderful details!
I like the freshly lying snow on this vast field, where these lonely trees gives great idea of the cale in the picture. The sharpness and POV are simply perfect here. The colors bring the natural and the whole scenario is very well shown in this lovely composition.

I wish you and your family too a very Happy New Year!

best greetings,
Paras

Hello Bev,

beautiful capture of this scenerey.. it looks so lonely. The zoomed out composition adds to the scale of the vastness of the fields. Lovely sky and colours.

Hi Bev

Nice shot of this winter landscape.
Going from the weather forecast this could have been any part of Scotland.
Good exposure and lighting, I have a number of very over exposed shots taken in the snow.
