[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A picture taken earlier this week whilst driving along the B709 from Traquair to St. Mary's Loch. This is actually looking back towards Traquair. I liked the bright sunlight on the nearer hills and that gate with its snow.

That day I drove about 150 miles on snow-covered roads like this with no incident. I arrived back home and, within half-an-hour, some blighter had driven into my parked car and made off, leaving a big dent in the front wing. A horrible end to an otherwise perfect day.

Shot in RAW using a polarising filter and converted and edited in PSE6.

Very nice composition and beautiful countryside. I like the fence in the fg, nice details. A lovely winter scene. TFS

Beautifully captured winter scene John. Been along this road a number of times still looking for the right shot. You certainly have captured one here.

Nice use of leading lines and also good to see some detail in the sky. Not always easy at this time of year.

Hello John,another lovely 'snowy' shot.The fence and the road on the diagonal are excellent lead in lines.
The light on the moorland enhances its' colour and leads our eyes to the distant hills and the low cloud.

Sorry to hear about the bump to the car, hope it doesn't need much to repair it.

Hi John, nice photo, sad story about the car, I hope it was not the Austin! I just spent Christmas with my wife in the Scottish Borders, at Stobo Castle near Peebles. What a lovely area and so quiet.
