[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have had request to show more photos from our Antarctica trip. This is St. Andrew's Bay on South Georgia Island near the Antarctic. This was the highlight of the trip.
There are over 250,000 King Penguins here.
The lighting conditions are often difficult and if I had to do it again I would get a faster lens and would take a monopod. (A tripod is too difficult to take and setup quickly.) The photo in our intro section is of us infront of a sea of penguins in the background.

What a lovely, dramatic and impressive shot, Karin - I am very envious that you visited here and were able to take images like this. This is a photo that has the "wow" factor - great stuff, very well done!

Awesome! What a great trip!
The winding river leads my eyes back to the mountains, makes a great composition. It's really cool how the penguins line the banks. Very considerate of them to add to the drama of the image for you.
Take care
Karen

One word Karin: Amazing! wow!

Impressive shot. TFS.

Regards, Josée

I love these guys ;) beautiful shot, lack of sunlight on the penguins made them look a bit dull but there is not much one can do. Thanks for this beautiful nature shot..

Impressive shot; my thought flies to a large group of people at a meeting.

Amazing image Karin, beautiful landscape. Did you do a head count? :)

Regards Mark

Nice shot! It's like there going out or something because they are all dress-up. I didn't know they can be so many of them at the same place.

Hi Karen
Wonderful image, great perspective of this landscape to present us this penguin colony.
You are very privilege to visit such a remote and beautiful area. TFS

Hello Karin!

Certainly a WOW factor indeed ! Unique post ! A bit sad the clouds did not cooperate much in providing you more light on this band of tap dancers (^_^).

Thanks for sharing your priceless memories.

I worked rapidly a WS. i hope you will like it (^_^).

Cheers!

Robert
