[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Alderney Hill Climb 2008.... Mainly cars from the island itself and a few over from Guernsey and Jersey. Motorbikes in the race too.

I've not done a lot of motor shots, so this was a novelty for me. This is panned at an angle - hence the point of focus and sharpness is around the driver's helmet. A slow (for action sports) shutter speed of 1/60 and a panning action gives a background blur... A little difficult shooting against the sun, but I think this worked ok..
Cropped to give 'space' for the car to move into, and resized with frame.

I agree with Robert's comments David.
The whole shot oozes movements and speed.
The colours on the car too add interest.

Good framing and cropping, removing the unnecessary green in front of and behind the subject. I like the addition of the frame. Something i've never thought of doing when cropping with aspect ratio removed.

David, a wonderful shot apart from your other motives. Just goes to show that a good photographer is not limited to one genre only! Impeccable focus for the pan of 1/60 sec.! Not only did it work out "ok" it is a GREAT tribute to your skills as a photographer, apart from the marvelous wide angle shots you normally post. Love it!
