[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A sunset as seen from the rocks of 'Clonque Beach' looking west (obviously!) towards 'Burhou Island'.

Two ND grads across the top of the lens, shot in RAW. Just a small boost of saturation and a little dodging on the rocks in the foreground.
I think the horizon looks like it's slightly tilted - however it's a slight lens distortion at the 10mm setting.

Hi David,
A beautifully produced shot, the colours really draw your eye into the shot and the detail on the rocks is exquisite

Hi David

A very nice sunset, with superb use of a long exposure time, to get the motion blur in the water. Good sharpness & sunset colours. Tfs!

Bonjour David,
Tu as su créer une atmosphère particulière, mystèrieuse avec cette longue expo. La luminosité de fin de journée aide beaucoup à installer l'ambiance avec ce ciel.
Bonne journée

I like! Sometimes rules are meant to be followed, and for good reason. The composition here is perfect, it gives the sky an opportunity to balance out the busier lower portion of the frame. The filters did a nice job.

Hello David,

Fantastic, athmospheric, and very well done with the long exposition shot.
Very well done!

Malik & Mary.

Hi David,

Nice 2 layered foreground and lovely pastel colours in the sky.
For the slight curve on the horizon, have a look at www.epaperpress.com and look up ptlens this is an amazing lens correction plugin It is updated constantly for every new lens, only costs $10 for life and best of all it works brilliantly.

Hi David,
I love the patterns of the clouds and the wonderful color it received from the setting sun. The composition is wonderful, with the rock placed in the pefect position to act as stepping stones. The slow shutter gave the water a great silky effect. I am not so sure about the dodging in the FG rocks. Some parts are almost white and claim a lot of attention. You also dodges some areas outside the rocks that make it look too artificial. I've got the same lens and know all about the distortion. I used the handy lens correction filter in Photoshop to get the horizon straight.

P.S. You last name makes me curious. Are you the Jessop from the stores? :)

Hi David..great work on the shot and the PP....excellent light and tones..great composition.

Hi David,

This is wonderful!
Great colors and light in this picture.
A very nice mood too.
I'm interested in the shutter speed and aperture.

TFS and greetings from Netherland,

Superb shot David - Just the right amount of "mist" on the water and good sky colours without being overdone. Would be interesed for future reference to know what exposure you used to achieve this syandard of result.

Hi David

Nice location and good composition. The use of the grads is evident especially the top 1/5 of the frame. I'd suggest cropping that portion out to even out the lighting as a whole. You were lucky to witness the beautiful sunset. TFS

thank you for the tech. info
very beautiful shot, wish I lived by the sea.

OH man, your sunset shots keep getting better and better David! Nice work on this, really superb colors and I love the shiny rocks in the FG! Great looking sky!

Hi David, a combination of barrel distortion and a slight tilt. Nice work with the ND grads and a lovely effect on the water obtained. Good colour and ideal in the portrait mode. A workshop to fix the distortion and the rocks Niek spoke about,

Bonsoir David,

Nice seascape. Excellent use of grad filter, as efficient if not more than HDR. Excellent exposure, great DOF, perfect low POV. This image would look great on my wall. Splendid work and TFS.
