Dunluce Castle:a ruined medieval castle in Northern Ireland.
It is located on the edge of a basalt out-cropping in County Antrim. It is accessible via a foot bridge connecting it to the mainland.
It was the head-quarters of the MacDonnell clan. There is archealogical evidence of a village that surrounded the castle which was destroyed by fire in 1641.
Constantly fought over, it eventually succumbed to the power of nature, when part of it fell into the sea one stormy night,[although this is now disputed as a myth!]
in 1639.
It was abandoned shortly after.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Jean,I like your inclusion of the railed pathway, not only is it a strong leading line,it also adds a bit of the modern world to that older world of centuries past. The positioning of the castle in your composition ,makes for a strong & interesting image.
Cheers

Hello Jean

I like the view from the side. Too bad they connot restore her to her original beauty and make her functional again. my two cents. Like the view.

This must have been a formidable sight in its hayday, perch the way it is on the cliff tops and scaring the jesus out of any gogdy visitors.
I like the inclusion of this path leading to the castle, the sky acts in your favour with the brightness shown.
I also love the closeness of the lush grasses and the subtle tiny flowers scattered about adding to the feel and abandoned look.
Well taken you.
Have a wet one.
