[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This animal is endangered and is endemic to Madagascar. It is the largest carnivorous animal that lives there (apparently). It is estimated that there are about 2500 left. This one is in a zoo for endangered species in a small place near Deal in Kent.
It is a bizarre looking animal with a long muscular body, extremely powerful hind quarters and weighs in at about 20 lbs 6-8 kilos.
Extremely agile it is an excellent tree climber and lives in Madagascar's dry deciduous forests. I was extremely taken with the clean lines and powerful body. So then....any of you out there know what it is? Next picture with the answer very soon.
Mike

Hi Mike!
Very good scene. Good perspective. Original composition. Nice light and colors. Very good capture.
Greetings!

Hi Mike,
Off hand, I'd say it's a fossa (Cryptoprocta ferox) a zoological oddity resembling the jaguarundi (neotropical cat), but most authorities place it in the Viverrid family along with civets and mongooses. Am I right?
Regards,
Michael

No idea what this animal is
This is a great photo

Intense look on its face! This is captured with good sharpness and detail and a very good bokeh in the background.

I do think it could have been cropped down a little further, perhaps placing the eye in a more powerful part of the frame (i.e. not in the centre!) And maybe a little boost in contrast?

Nice work overall

Very orginal shot here!

I have done a workshop, hope you like.
