Bradford City Hall.

A massive mid-Victorian structure, the City Hall typifies the style of buildings commissioned by both public and private developers during the 19th Century expansion of Bradford. It was a city booming on the woolen trade with money to spend on grand designs that were built to last. Some of the buildings were lost in the 1960s re-developments but these civic headquarters are an excellent survivor.

This is a less glamorous view of this fine building, the main image of this Town Hall I posted here the other day in b/w tones. I took this as it was less busy with people but the main reason was the fine arches shown here and the beginnings of the ornate stonework as the building extends upwards. I used 5 images at varied exposure levels and meld together using HDR software. I'm very pleased with the fine detail and texture created.

I've added a white gradient to the sides to aid the frame used but know many here are adversed to seeing frames on photograph....sorry

Hi Steve,
You created a lovely mood in this architectural presentation. The composition is lovely from the perfect POV. Beautiful warm lighting on this arched facade. I like the framework and the contrast between modern and old.
A very neat presentation.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Bom dia Steve,
The use of frames near the predominant color in the photo rarely succeeds. Here he gave.
A photo austere like the building, with a very nice POV and good DOF.
Very well done.

Very nice Steve! I like the bold archways as a lead into the shot! I like the focus being just on the archways and the perspective here! nice processing and framing!

Hi Steve,

The composition of the architecture and the perspective of the road is excellent and excellent effect of the image.
Best regards.

I like the mood you have captured in this scene, Steve ;O))
The details are well managed and colors are natural.
Good approach with superb lighting and exposure too.
Well done!

Hi Steve,
the HDR has done its job on the stonework, it gives it depth and texture. Initially I thought that the new buildings were out of place but as Fransx says they create a good contrast between old and new - I know which one I prefer. I think the frame works well here

Hello Steve
I love everything surrounding architecture ... Anything built by man ..Like the POV..and the arches in FG..Like the contrast
between the mid-Vic building and the modern one in BG
great tones and use of light

Nice stonework especially the arches. I like the soft border you have used. The stonework is pretty clean considering the industry that went on in this city. I guess they probably had it cleaned up. TFS

Good lines converging and leading the eyes to interesting and different architecture. I like the clarity and the frame you choose.

um abraço
