[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Was out for a walk near my hotel this evening when I saw a number of ducklings. I was lucky enough to capture 2 or 3 shots before they disappeared into the growth at the side of the canal bank.

Using Paint Shop Pro.
Cropped the image (in width only).
Increased brightness.
Resized for TL.
Added a border.

I did try noise reduction but lost a lot of detail, so reversed the process. Also tried without a border but was not keen on this.

Hi Derek
He/she's cute. Water looks really dirty or did you change the colour of this?
You've caught good detail of the duckling, especially the beak. Just caught a little reflection too.
I like the frame too - all the colours blend in together.

Hello Derek

A simple and yet really stunning shot here, wonderful colour and details with superb eye contact giving oodles of character. Excellent notes and the framing is superb

TFS regards Helen

Hi Derek,
You have captured this little guy well, the sharpness is great and I really like the lighting here and the reflection, no noise reduction is needed here, nice one
Werll done
Regards Andy

Hi Derek
A good sharpe image of this cute duck. I think you could increase the size of the image and reduce your border to improve the appeal. I like the little reflection.
Well done.

Hi Derek,
This is a very nice portrait of this little duck! What I like more is the unity of colors. Superb and luminous range of brown tones and just the right sharpening! Bravo! Annie

Hello, Derek.

A superb shot indeed.

I think it is the lighting that makes this one stand out above others. The low evening light from the left has given a wonderful catchlight to the eye of the duckling as well as lovely reflections of its beak. The lighting on its body and the reflections in the dull water just add to the appeal.

It's wonderful! Well done.

Best Wishes,

aww got the feel good capture with this one Derek not like my ugly bird well captured and framed
