Hello everyone,

another PoV of the iron bridge at Ironbridge.
I wonder what the people in the area first thought when the bridge was first constructed, nothing like it had ever been seen before.

From the English Heritage website:- "The worlds first iron bridge was erected over the River Severn here in 1779.Britain's best known industrial monument.

The bridge gave its name to the spectacular wooded gorge which, though now tranquil, was once an industrial powerhouse, and the cradle of the Industrial Revolution.
At the beginning of the 18th century, Abraham Darby pioneered the process of using coke made from local coal to smelt local iron ore.But industrial expansion was hampered by the lack of a bridge over the Severn, which had to be a single span to allow for barge traffic.

An iron bridge was first suggested by the Shrewsbury architect Thomas Pritchard,he designed a single bridge span 30 metres long, but died as work began. The project was then taken over by Abraham Darby III who cast the bridge in his Coalbrookdale, using 378 tons of iron."

Thanks for looking.

Hi Jean,
An attractive POV to capture this bridge adorned with splendid lighting that you saw with your artistic eyes.
Perfect contrast with the greenery and a lovely geometrical composition with these lines.
Well done for this neat work.

Hi Jean,

Good graphism & sharpness on the old bridge. The people add scale. An interesting accompanying note. Tfs!

Hi Jean,
beautiful bridge.I have never seen like this one.Beautiful architecture.Well taken,well presented.TFS.Necla.

Dear Jean
Nice shot of this huge iron bridge
The green trees in the back added to its beauty
And also turbid water...

Firstly, I was also going to post a capture from a bridge but later one thought to post an autumn scene picture, Jean!

This is a nice work where you share the nice architecture of this bridge with amazing light and contrasts. The sharpness and POV are well done, and colors are natural too.
Good work!

Kind regards,

Good morning Jean,

A wonderful architecture nestled in a plant of great generosity.
Beautiful contrast of shadow and light is extra.
A composition for well informed with your eyes.
Well done for this excellent presentation orderly

Kind regards

The first and it's still standing and in use today...amazing. That shows the quality of workmanship back then. Great pov and dof with sharp details. Love the shadows, it gives it some depth. Well done, tfs.
