The Whispering Trees
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
I've been doing some cleaning up of my files and got stuck into resurrecting some old files and have tried putting some new life into them, with some high contrast B&W techniques. This is one of the results.
A small copse of trees, planted perhaps about 15 years ago? The shot didn't look anything like in colour, but I think the conversion works well. The shot was taken just after dawn and I liked the highlights and shadows on opposite sides of the trunks and branches.
The image is flipped horizontally, and cropped to get the base of the trunks in one corner and a diagonal line across the frame. Converted using gradiant map, and contrast adjusted using curves, and levels tweaked. Final usm applied, added border, resize for TL and post.
The copse is near some lagoons which are just around the corner from my house.
Thanks for looking,
