'A quiet corner' in the grounds of the estate of Godolphin.
"Godolphin, tucked away from the 21st century, hidden by woods and approached by twisting, sunken lanes."

Now owned by the National Trust, there is a lot of work to be done on the estate, as the fabric of the house and the surrounding farm has suffered the destructive effects of time.

This is just one of the farm outbuildings.I liked the graphic elements and the varied textures.
Although it was a bright day, there was no blue sky to help in complementing the colours.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Jean,

I love old buildings like this they have character in abundance and this has to. This would have done very well as a B&W image imho. The colours are very good the tones and textures of the building are brilliant and the details are very sharp well done.

HI Jean
This is really nice, the kind of place that has us wondering about its inhabitants and their history.
The vines on the roof, the old stones, and what looks like bars on the windows, so very rustic.
I love the results of your shot.

Hello, Jean.

This is lovely. So peaceful, restful and green. It really matters not that you didn't have bright sunshine: you have cropped out what was a pale white sky and have, as you say in your note, concentrated on the wonderful textures of the weathered stonework, wood and roofs of this building.

Teachnically this is absolutely stunning, with incredible detail and sharpness and perfect colours.

An interesting note too.

Kind Regards,
