A mountain view with three different layers of colors during a nice sunny day on Mannlichen Mountain, near Berne, Switzerland.

Männlichen is a 2,343 metre mountain in the Swiss Alps located within the Canton of Berne.

It can be reached from Wengen by the Luftseilbahn Wengen-Männlichen (LWM) cable-car, or from Grindelwald using the Gondelbahn Grindelwald-Männlichen (GM) gondola. It then takes 15 minutes to walk to the summit. It is a popular viewpoint over the Lauterbrunnen valley and a popular start location for hikers and skiers.

Hi Francis

WOW! Looks similar to the Himalayas or the Canadian Rockies! Perfect sharpness, fantastic graphism & wonderful colour saturation. The little chalet on the green grassy plateau at left makes the shot. Tfs!

Hi Francis
Isn't Switzerland a fantastic place for catching superb landscape shots. I rode over the Alps a few years ago on my motorcycle and took loads of fantastic images from the bike - my mistake was not stopping enough..!
When I forst opened up the thumbnail I though I was seeing a 3-layered image, the contrast between the snow-covered, shaded slope and green grassy moutains have split the frame into a tryptich (well almost).
Love the shot, TFS
Dai

Bonjour Francis Xavier,

Odile

Hi Francis, I really like the three different levels the different peaks have produced with the shaded one in the middle. It looks like a nice spot to hide away. Fiona
