Cobblers' Bridge is a bridge crossing the river Ljubljanica in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.

It is one of the oldest bridges crossing the river in Ljubljana, and dates back to at least the 13th century. In the Middle Ages it was known as the Upper Bridge.

It started as a wooden bridge with a butchers shop on it, but the stench from the meat was so strong that the Emperor at the time paid to have them relocated. The occupiers of their booths following this were shoemakers, and so the bridge has its present name.

The bridge has been reconstructed on numerous occasions throughout its long history due to floods or fires and in 1867 an iron bridge was built. However this was later relocated in 1931 and replaced with the current stone bridge designed by the architect Jože Plečnik

Good Morning Francis,

This appears like an old master's painting. The soft light keeps the colours gentle and a pleasing amount of light and shadow in the green water. Your chosen F stop has given a really good dof, keeping the interest right through the shot. The receding coloumns and the houses gives a fine sense of perspective.

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Francis-Xavier,
I'm not always keen on HDR-treatments as I think they are often applied "just" to boost colors, but here, I think your treatment is coherent with the subject matter: you seem to have added a kind of yellowish/brownish cast that conveys a vintage feel and fits well with the historical aspect of this old town.
Well balanced composition + the inclusion of human presence brings this town to live.
TFS & kind regards,

first class image grt lighting and a pleasent pov like this very much
tfs regards bryan

Beautiful postcard Francis. The colors are rich and beautiful. I might have cropped up a little higher from the bottom .. just my preference though.
Great shot

dear Francis Xavier,
a beautiful picture of the wonderful old bridge and houses,
the design of stone bridge is simple and graceful,
columns and cobbles are well decorated,
green river and back cloudy sky are making nice perspective for the bridge,
thank you for your excellent shot,

Greetings, fine PP work artisticly applied.Colors and clarity are really excellent.Best wishes Otto.

Hello My dear friend,
What a wonderful postcard with great POV and perspective.
Işık ve düzenlemesi süper olmuş.

Bonsoir Francis Xavier
Maybe this bridge in ordinary weather would seem ordinary too, because it has no longer anything of medieval and looks rather (in my opinion)rebuilt without anything else than utility purpose. So it is the wonder of your shot to give it , thanks to the colours and the intense mood weather you post processed, the character it was at 1st lacking of
My best regards
