A few kms beyond Poienari Citadel , the real Dracula's castle ( where Vlad the Impaler once ruled ) is lake Vidraru and its high dam . The arched dam is 165 m high and was constructed in 1965 , it holds the large reservoir lake of the same name with its 465 million cubic meters of waters . People bungee jumped from its top i was told , must be a great place to do that ! Cars can be driven across on the top of the structure and on a long and winding road over the Transylvanian Alps to Sibiu . I stopped here for the view of the green waters from the walkway , i noticed a small group of tourists with umbrellas , a light drizzle was falling ,just like me these persons lingered for quite a while there , i snapped another shot of them from a totally different angle ( i might present that one tomorrow or soon ) , amusing to get the same green tints in both water and umbrellas i thought .
F/ 3.2 , 1/80 , iso 100 , manual exposure program , shot at 7 pm under overcast skies and in intermittent drizzle , not much PP here , lost the exif when erased noise in Neatimage ( i still have the basic version i know... ), slight curve adj , sharpening and cinematic framing ,
Thanks for reviewing this photo ,

Wow, you got an immense mood here, Carol!

Perfect view with hanging fog which makes a mystic scenario here.
The sharpness and POV are excellent, and the positioning of the tourists enjoying this famous site is well thought.
Great job!

Happy Valentine's Day.

Best wishes,

Awesome vista! And I like the well captured foggy condition. Great pov and dof with sharp details. Nice subdued colors. Well done, tfs.

Hi Carol
wonderful display. Great pov for catching the dam and the beautiful view around it including the mountain's reflection at the bottom and the summer mist above the colored umbrellas.
perfectly composed and presented.

Hello Carol,

interesting spot and history. Great point of view capturing the tourists from the other side of the wall. I like the matching tints of the green water and umbrella, and the lighting conditions and fog really sets the mood.

A very "dark and moody" shot - with great results. Excellent DOF with a f/3.2 aperture. I like the curved lines and the full-frame composition.

TFS and Happy Val Day.

Hi Carol,
What a warm and spectacular atmosphere from this high POV. Marvelous water with a fabulous reflection broken by the slight ripples.
Magnificent colors and perfect lighting.
A very sharp image with a considerable DOF.
A very neat presentation.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

The umbrellas are the key to the success of this shot. I like the rather dark atmosphere and congratulate you that you didn't lighten the image as many would have been tempted.

Hi Carol.
What a lovely scene shot with beautiful details and accurate exposure specially the fog against the crispy clear BG and the greenish tone of the water makes it one dramatic presentation.
