A large view of my hometown under an amazing sky. This picture was taken 5 minutes before this one.
Photo taken in Alcochete - Portugal.

The town of Alcochete is located on the south bank of the River Tagus, near the Tagus Estuary Nature Reserve. Salt has long-been one of the main industries here, and saltpans can still be seen to the north and south of the town.
The town's foundation dates back to the 7th century, after the Moors conquered Lisbon. Its name derives from the Arabic word for kiln, as there have been many found in the area.

In this picture you also can see the Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Vida (Chapel of Our Lady of Life), a small chapel with an architectural plan from the fifteen hundreds. The main façade is Mannerist and it is interesting to note the rustic stone door panels which flank the main and lateral doors. There is one single nave which has a central shrine, covered by an elegant Mannerist dome. The builders, Dr. Afonso Frigueira and his wife are buried under the main shrine. the lateral walls of the main chapel are covered with panels of tiles from the XVIII century. The church is situated in a beautiful place where both the River Tagus and Lisbon may be seen. Joined on to the church was a former hospital which once belonged to the local charity.

Regards from Portugal,
António

Dramatico cielo.
Me gusta mucho. Tienes un gran dominio del manejo de la luz con la camara y con los programas de retoque fotografico que son muy de agradecer.
Saludos.

Great picture Antonio - reminds me of old Hollywood black and white shots... graphically over-emphasised to create the mood. Very well done specially with the clouscape.. they are surely dramatic to say the least.
Mukesh

Well Done.

Hi Antonio,
Another highly dramatic seaside scenery! Very well composed in fitting B&W, and a nice diagonal by the white wall... And the light pole, your trademark for the series?

Great picture ………
Antonio

Simplesmente fantástica.
É um B&W com uma profundidade enorme...o que mais me chamou a atenção foi o "peso" das nuvens, um efeito espectacular. Boa composição e título.
Parabéns.

If you just stare at the lamps for a few seconds the clouds begin to move. Could just be loony today but when I look at the two lamps on the post...mainly the right one the clouds start to move. Anyone one else after me see this!
Well goes to credit your FANTASTIC photography and compositional arrangement Antonio.
The contrast and smoothness of the image is just so eye pleasing. Your work is of a great caliber my friend.
Very well done, very well!
