[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On one of my days during my photography trip to Faial, Azores, I decided to walk the Levada (aqua duct) trail. This trail runs along an old water course that runs along the main volcano for over 9 kilometers. In the old days it was used to create electricity.

Halfway through the walk I came across this scene and decided to work with slow exposure and capture the movement of the water. For this of course a tripod was used, a hot shoe spirit level, and a remote. I used a CP filter to cut down on the glare and get more seconds in an exposure.

The water is shown perfectly, it forms in the photo a kind of ribbon, beautiful vivid colors,

Hello Niek, I was unsure of the 'ribbon' of water in the thumbnail, it actually looked like a strip of metal!
You did a wonderful job with the slow exposure, it creates a kind of tension within the picture.
I like the contrast between the frozen water and the textures of the path and surrounding vegetation.
Regards Jean.

I do like the effect you show on the movement of the water as it cascades down, the hints of light to the background also aid the appeal.
