THE TITLE: when the summer begins a giant crowd invades the entire littoral in a few days, and the tents of cloth and wood go emerging of the ground as mushrooms.
When the summer comes to the end, all that crowd disappears with the same rapidity of the arrival, leaving behind the remaining portions of these «cloth cities» as dry bones in the sand — reason because I called the photo of today «BONES OF SUMMER» — that create a very special scenario of structures and colours against the sea.

THE PHOTO: with this photo I had a very hard option.
In general is the photo that «tells me» if the posting will be in «colours» or in «b/w», and I simply follow this true «desire of the picture».
However, in this particular case the «photo claimed» for two things totally different: the colour impact; and, the mood of a classic b/w.
Therefore I will post both: in the gallery as I saw it, in colour; and, as a «ws», the b/w version.

I couldn’t decide myself. Can you help me?

Hi Jose,
I am addict at blue /green coloured harmony! So, the color version appeal me more than the B&W, despite this one is beautiful!
What a superb subject and composition! The nets, play of lines, strong waves in background with the dark sky compose a balanced image and suggest a dramatic mood!
My compliments! Annie

Hello Jose,
Strong, how just a detail of the beach makes us feel the entire atmosphere. The zoom effects makes these "bones of summer" really pop out and gives the wave in the background a menacing dimension: as if it wanted to erase summer (and its tourists) definitively.
I like the tight framing and the highly saturated colours, as they contribute to the above mentioned effect, but if your really ask me to choose between the colour version and the B&W version, I will opt for the B&W..
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

Marco

Boa tarde jose
The color mood is more fantastic. green and blue as sometimes the color of the ocean. Very vibrant as the look of the sea.
I think the colour one is less easy and more original.
The B/w is more classical and more sweet.
I choose the colour one because of its strongness.
My regards
teresat

Greetings Jose,

Normally a B&W is usually more dramatic, but with this image I prefer the color version. The colors of the nets balance with the colors of the sea & the blue, "net bones" seperate the two
adding more depth to the scene, than if they were in B&W. I also think that the white sea spray has more impact in the color image.Just MHO

Hi Jose,
I prefer the colors one! I think that the black and white one is too hard. In the colored one, the blue and green tones fit together well. The colours give something more to the picture. TFS. Regards,
Valérie

Another clever title. I wonder how it sounds in Portuguese. "Los huesos de verano" in Spanish, but huesos are what I give my dog...and she doesn't want them only in the summer.

I like the richness of the colors here in this image. The sharpness and detail present the image as if you could touch it.

The B&W workshop that you posted doesn't do anything to enhance what B&W usually does, which might be the impact of showing structure, however, it actually flatens it for my taste and for some strange reason, I think the green is "important" to the image. Probably because it's so difficult to get greens to correspond well with each other and the green sheets on the shore do correspond with the seagreen. I'm not sure, but I bet the blue from the poles has something to do with "carrying over": the transition from the green below to blue water above, which is how the eye moves as well.

Although I like the way the blues and greens play with each other in the workshop that Roberto Innocenzi (cobra112) did for you, I don't like what happened to the crests in the water or the color in the blue poles. It would be interesting to see the green sheets and wooden poles from Roberto's workshop against the rest of this photo just for comparison. His green sheets have a bit more yellow in them

Be well,
Jim

Ola José.
Yhink I prefer the black and white version, as it gives a better idea of the comming dark Autumn, symbolizing the empthy beaches.
The colour version is at first sight also good but the OE of the waves and the noise in the upperpart, makes me go for the BW.
Best wishes from Jan

Bonito as cores e detalhes!

A fine work by you again. The BW is good too, but personally I prefer the color one, as it has a palette that it seems to me it is a pity to be killed. Yes, I agree, BW will take you closer to "the core of the image" but in this case the color itself has a story worth telling.
Regards,
Tibi

Hello Jose. Excellent colors, texture and perspective of this composition. The violent wave pounding on the shore with the sky on top looking good in the frame. Well done and kind regards. Jusni

The colour for me Jose purely for the strong colours. A nice closeup of what we caught a glimpse of in your last image. Even in colour you still managed yur trademark grain,

No, I can't help you! I like them all! Each one makes a different impression, but equally interesting. Good subject and composition, making excellent use of the visual elements and the story they tell. The blue is eye-catching in the color version(s), and the geometrics are more intriguing in the b&w. Either way, I like the fascinating "bones" as you described. Well done:)

Hi José,

The green/blue in the sea water and the green/blue of the cloths make a very good match and balance in this shot, so no need to turn it into a B&W, I think you would then loose a lot of the essence here.

No, for me the BW does not work at all.
