[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was yesterday in Torun - City of Kopernik ( you know - Terrae motor, Solis caeligue stator) Beautiful day, but no idea for photos.
Then i saw this old women on balcony in heart of old town. Stream of people, street artist playing guitar, kids, tourists. And she.
She looked so sad, so ailing, so neglected. Im sure she was all the day lonely in her apartment and she wanted to look a few minuts on people, on life. What a contrast... What we know about suffering? Nothing.
And she saw me, looked in my camera. Unexpected contact with the world below. I was confused and I was touched...
What is she doing now?

no,jestem pod wrażeniem..

A touching documentation, Tomasz, both the image and the note you wrote. (Maybe next time you could walk up and bring her some flowers?) - While the sun shining straight onto her hair makes over-exposed it also adds to the impression of her not being part of the life down below anymore. Well observed. - Cordelia :)

Perfect photo Tomasz, breathing with loneliness, amazing portrait of this old lady, so full of feelings...perfect!

take care, Ivana

oh, Tomasz ... very touching photo and words ... nothing more to say ...

stay well,

Her stare and the expression on her face even the hands conveyed a hundred messages, I must truly say a perfect capture from a creative eyes, well done Tomasz.

Hi Tomasz, excellent shot. You have really captured the atmosphere well. Like you say she looks sad and perhaps she is reminiscing on old times. Your good choice of black and white lends itself to the subject well. Good details and POV, yes with a little overexposed areas but I think that adds to the mood. Well done and TFS.

Hi Tomasz,
Great and beautiful B&W Photo.

oh, this overexposure is making her look like a soul coming from the sky to give us the true lesson of living.....
in my favs theme!

She looks to be in a place that many of us fear. Strong mood in this image Tomasz.

Beautiful image, Tomasz. Beautiful and somewhat unsettling at the same time. The lighting is perfect. I would be tempted to have composed it with a little more space at the left, or cropped a bit from the right, but that's just a matter of personal taste, the shot itself is very good.

Hi Tomasz

excellent shot,
Very good photograph.
Great job!

Another great one from you Tomasz.
I like the monent you have captured very dramatic and suggestive. I like very much the contrast and grain in your photo.
The overexposed part plays really well in your composition.
Excellent work.

Hi Tomasz,
Quite poignant. Beautifully captured and complemented by a well written note. Bravo.

Very beautiful & touching portrait, Tomasz. You seem to have capture the essence of this lady down the harsh light on her hair. Nicely composed & good treatment. Excellent!

hello tomasz!
beautiful photo and note, excellent work.

Good to show us the other part of life Tomasz. I think I couldn't make a photo like this...my compliments.

Wow. Excellent "candid" shot you took here, Tomasz. Well seen, well captured, well processed too. A touching picture!

Hi Tomasz,
This is a superb portrait with a great mood. She looks sad & lonely and you capture it very well. TFS

Hi Tomasz
You captured a beautiful moment. Her face is saying man things.

very strong portrait of an old woman! she looks very sad, although you have put her in the scene of a very nice place. i like the way the light is in her hair, it shows how much light is left in her life. there is also good architecture. thanks for sharing.

love josh chang

great face expression, great portrait

Perfect! Nothing can be said here either.

Tomasz, The photo and the accompanying note evoke a lot of emotion. Very well captured!

As if she was thinking of years gone by when she was down there where she watches. Such a emotional photograph Tomasz! I like this better than "she". To me this is just a more compelling image. The feelings here are so strong. Excellent!!!!

Love and Peace Always

tu lepiej chociaz wlosy z lekka przepalone...moze trzeba bylo mniej swiatla wpuscic?? ale podoba mi sie:)

Tomasz... while her expression is sad, I don't think that, that is what makes me sad. The image actualy frightens me, because death and old age frightens me... I suppose it's naive to say that, but it's how I view time. Anyways, it just saddens me to realize this woman might be somewhere in the world right now, and has this very same expression upon her face... feeling like time has really caught up with her.

It's beautiful, in an extremely poignant way... a kind of revelation for me, sigh life is such a complex tale.

Thanks Tomasz.

Nie mam slow.
Wystarczy popatrzec.
Az sie chce wspolczuc tej staruszce
pozdrawiam Tatry

very emotional and very impressive picture! it makes me thinking about life...
great work Tomasz!
