[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another photo I made with my home made studio (carton box) This time with a nutcracker. I tried severall different light positions, but this one was the best.

You are probably wondering how this nutcracker works. Well you put a nut on the iron dish and hit on top of the soft rubber top. Inside the rubber top is a piece of carved iron that will crack the nut by the force of your hit.

PP work: cropped out part of the box and b/g. Then selected the cracker and flipped the selection and changed the color to 96% blue in the midtones. Cloned out a few dust spots and sharpened the photo with USM. Framed the photo and resized it for TL. Sharpened it again in USM

My favourite colour combination after blue+brown;)
Nice, very neat minimalistic shot!
Pleasant bg and the sharp detail of the elegant curve!

Excellent sharpness, lighting and composition! Good product shot!

Hi Niek,

Nice and very clean work. Well elected background. I like this simple compo. Excellent work!

regards,

ferran

Great light in this shot, Niek! Your little studion set-up works well! There might be a bit too much space at the top; maybe going to a more rectangular format works better. Otherwise, great capture; good work!

What a presentation and of an intriguing object. (How hard do you have to hit it to crack a nut?) Unusual colour combination, very soft and lovely. Great light, too. Thank you for sharing this one, Niek. Cordelia

beautiful colors and details in the photo Niek
excellent studio photo

good work

All very lovely in all respects. Strange but very suitable object, tasty pastel colours, well-lit and as sharp as my lawyer.
I have never seen a nut-cracker like this before and I'm so glad that you explained how it works. I can sleep peacefully tonight now!

Mooi destructie ding; daar kun van alles onder kapot krijgen. Mooi gebracht; grappig e ook artistiek.
