[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is something I always wanted to do, nocturnal photography with a moving object going through the frame. So I went to our main bus station waiting for some busses to depart. Unfortunately the busses aren't driving that fast to get a full trail of light. But still the effect of it is there.

Hi Niek

Superb use of diminishing linear perspective & vanishing point, with a good exposure and well managed low light levels. Tfs!

Hi Niek,
Great night shot with perfect use of perspective, great compo !!!
Of course, a bus passing into your frame is a good subject because the effect created by the motion of lights is always interesting ! Done :)

Nicely done, Niek. I think the trail of light captured is very good. I also love the way you composed the shot. Thanks for sharing!

Nice shot.
Good long exposure effects.
Clean and straight.

Also nice star effect (well a diff. kind of star shape). on the lamp post.
Well done.

Hoi Niek,

Hi Niek,
Nice and sharp long exposure. Why did you stop at 4 seconds though? Anyways, composition is good, and has been said before you made great use of the wide lens to play wirh perspective.
Well done,
Jako

Hi Niek,
this is very different than the landscapes I'm used to see from you. Different only in subject matter, the quality and the composition are as great as your other work. Excellent night photagraphy.

Niek

Another quality shot. Nice sharpnes and composition. I like the "star burst" effect on the street lights on the left.

Hello Niek,
A good night time exposure, where you also make a lot out of the fine lines!
Great perspective on this lonely place, where only a bus adds the life...
Well composed presentation!
Greetings,

Hi Niek

Great work especially as it is your first attempts as night photography. You may not have had any fast moving traffic but you captured the light trail nicely. The street light has a great effect as well

Hello Niek,
I began to do nocturnal pictures too and I love it. I wonder how you do the focus when you see nothing is the camera and the focus won't do it in automatic way. This is something I really wonder as I had this problem.

I like this picture and exposure with nice composition and POV. This is very well done! Thanks,
Claudine

Hi Niek,
This looks great! I love the challenges of doing long exposure night photography. This is a very well balanced overall scene. The color of the lighting and the detail look excellent. Very nice work!
Scott

Hoi Niek,

Wonderful picture-by-night. I'm amazed about the sharpness and perfect exposure. The light (on the left of the middle) gives a nice effect, just as if the sun still shines.
Maybe you could have tried a composition with less building on the left and more attention to the light trails.

Anyhow: good capture!
TFS, Darlene

hi Niek,
I like this!! It's lovely. Very sharp and well taken!!
Reading your note, if the buses aren't driving that fast, to get a fuller trail you could just close aperture down a bit (so that you can have a slower shutter - that will emphasise the movement even more). And/or still you could also couple that with lower ISO, and/or lower the OEV.. so you can go even further still (even into bulb). Anyway, these are just personal tips or two - there are a number of ways - i'm sure you'll probably have some tips/tricks that work well for you too.

Back to your image, I think it's brilliant!
I like images like this and think they are fun to shoot because of the challenge posed to get it right.
You did great here mate!

Well done.
Best regards, Daniel
