[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Its that time of the year again, that I am staying more and more indoors and put my creative hat on again. This is a photo I made with my D.I.Y. studio (the cardbord box thing) in which also made Toothpick Anyone? and Crack my Nuts But this time it was a lot easier to do since I gained more knowledge of lighting and PP work.

It's not a peanut, it's a piece of drift wood That I took back from Rialto Beach, Washington State USA.

I wanted to get a nice shade in this shot so I used a flashlight and an LED light. A lot of PP work was done to get the BG totally white and to give this piece of wood some more contrast and color.

Dag Niek,
prachtige compositie!
Erg mooi!

Hello Niek,
What a funny title and strange picture :-) I see that you have fun. I like this idea. You did good PP work here and I like this lighning. TFS,

Hi Niek!
See your great pp here!
Very good result!
thank you, Karina

I don't know why, Niek, but I like it.
It realy looks like a damaged peanut.
I like the modern style with the white BG and the shadow. Minimalism! Very nice, thanks

Hello Niek,
High contrast works well!
And you're quite right... from now on and for some weeks indoor is the place to be...
Nicely composed presentation, good colours and details!
And a nice souvenir to keep...

Hoi Niek,
Prachtig PP-werk. TFS.

:) Later...

As promised...

thats a very peanut looking piece of wood Niek :)

i like the details and textures, the light is very good
well done on the PP :)

simple and suggestive, a kind of "memento mori" for peanuts:)

Hoi Niek,

moest ik toch echt even komen kijken :-)
Eenvoud siert inderdaad!

I like your home made studio, it is a bit like my lightbox (a bit of bent plastic and a light bulb). I love the textures on the driftwood - it looks like a piece of sculpture. Bad winters obviously bring out your creative side

P.S. I have never seen a nutcracker like that one

So that is where that piece of American driftwood went! Did you get a permit? : )
I have no clue what you are talking about...DIY studio box thing???? : )
Send me a photo of it. I enjoyed all three of your DIY photos. Really interesting...and way out of my knowledge zone...creative hat or not.

Hi Niek,
You right its this time of the year, guess we had the same idea of practising some indoor photagraphy. I like this minimal composition, just the subject and it's shadow looks. great.
Very well composed and perfectly captured.

Excellent management of lighting in your composition. I like it
