The nearly round, Pomegranate fruit is crowned at the base by the prominent calyx. The tough, leathery skin or rind is typically yellow overlaid with light or deep pink or rich red. The interior is separated by membranous walls and white, spongy, bitter tissue into compartments packed with sacs filled with sweetly acid, juicy, red, pink or whitish pulp or aril. In each sac there is one angular, soft or hard seed. High temperatures are essential during the fruiting period to get the best flavor. The pomegranate may begin to bear in 1 year after planting out, but 2-1/2 to 3 years is more common. Under suitable conditions the fruit should mature some 5 to 7 months after bloom.
The fruit is very common in Malta and is found scattered everywhere, even in front gardens!

Good Morning Francis,
Pomegranates often looks to me like Russian hand grenade in size and design haha. And this is an interesting catch of pop open top by the nature. Fine details and crisp quality are salient. Exciting colors in great luminosity. Well done my friend. Thanks for sharing.
Inaam

very artistic image with lovely details and excellent framing
tfs regards bryan

Hello Francis, you have cropped the shot quite tightly and yet we are still able to recognise the pomegranate, well done.
The colours and texture are wonderful, and the blurred fruit in the bg continues the lovely glow.
The top of the fruit is like a crown!
I cannot imagine having these fruit as commonplace as you describe.
Tfs, regards Jean.

"Art and beauty to their high", are well shown in this simple and charming closeup shot from Pomegranate fruit, dear Francis!

Great focus and perfect management of light with amazing POV and well kept DOF.
The colors are natural and contrasts are superb within the picture.
A white frame adds nice elegance to the whole scene.

Well thought work!

Kind regards,
Paras
